Miracles!!

 Hey there everyone!

This week was great! I had a cold for the majority of the week but I was still able to see so many miracles and blessings fill my week! Friday was probably the highlight of my week and honestly one of my favorite days of the mission so I'll share this little story for this week 😊

Friday was absolutely packed full!!

It was so much fun and this was the first day that Sora Gundersen and I were able to have just a one on one exchange with each other!

We got to their apartment Thursday night and they had spicy wings and veggies for us ready to eat! Then in the morning when we woke up, there was snow!!!! Ahhhh the first time this winter! That got me so excited!! It made the day even better right off the start! Sadly, we did not have time for sport because we had a lesson at 9am. We got ready for the morning and then headed out into the snow! Awww it was so pretty! Everything was white and clean AND I was back in Ploiești! My heart was just so full right off the bat 😊

When we got to the church our friend called us to tell us that he was running late because of the snow but that he was still coming! That right there was such a happy sign for us because that is very rare here in Romania for someone to actually keep us updated if they are coming or not and to not just bail because the weather!

About 15 minutes late, our friend Gabriele came! He apologized for being late and told us how he had to wait for 30ish minutes for a taxi. We taught him the Restoration lesson and MAN, that is the best Restoration lesson I have ever taught. Sora Gundersen and I worked so well together! Whenever I stopped, she picked up the lesson and it just went so smoothly! We taught, we asked questions, he asked questions, and we discussed. At the end we bore our testimonies. One of his main interests was family so I just testified how the gospel has blessed my family so much. I got a little emotional expressing how important families are and how we can be strengthened as we all strive to be closer to Christ! Before we said the closing prayer, Sora Gundersen asked him how he felt and he expressed how he could feel power from my testimony and felt emotional. He then said the closing prayer and he started getting choked up and said that he could feel something different! It was so special💗 Also, he is Italian! His wife is Romanian and that is why he is here with their one son! That just made the moment even more special to me!😍 After he left, Sora Gundersen and I freaked out! It was such a good lesson, the spirit was so strong and he was just so cool! Awww I love being a missionary! And this all happened before 10:30 am.

We then left the church out into the snow again, trudging through the wet snow, to Fratele Baluță’s home. When we arrived we were greeted by Bebe (he is about 40 years old and has some sort of autism) who was out shoveling their front patio. We sat and talked with Fratele Baluță for about 45 minutes and it was just so happy being able to brighten up his day by just being an ear to listen. After he was done telling a story he would say "fetele, tell me something" haha he is so sweet and I love going to his home. I love that even though he can't really walk, has health problems, and can't get to church without a ride (and there are not a lot of people to help him get to church) he still has his Book of Mormon right by his bed and reads from it often! I also love his prayers! It was great visiting him!

After that we called a taxi and went to Familia Nicolae's for a visit! That also was such a special experience being able to be a listening ear, sharing a spiritual thought with their sweet family, and sharing our smiles💗 I wish there was more I could do for this sweet family but I know that as the missionaries regularly visit their family they will be blessed!

After we left their house my feet were really cold! Haha my poor toes were sooo cold they really hurt. We waited for a bus to go to centru, where we were going to go get shwarma but on the way we took a last minute detour to get some Luca as well. The chocolate covrigs we got were fresh out of the oven! So yummy!! We got our shwarma and then we sloshed our way back to the church. As soon as we got there we draped our socks and shoes over the heater to dry! Haha Fratele Mihai was there cause the other sisters went to lunch with him and when he saw that we had no shoes on he about had a heart attack! haha He wanted to go to the store and buy us slippers. He sat with us as we ate our shwarma and told us, in a round about way, how we would not be able to have kids if we walked around without shoes. Sora Nuñez, in the other room, didn't even have socks on so he went and got her cardboard to put her feet on so they were not on the cold ground, haha.

Our friend Carmen Alexandru came and we had a lesson with her 💗 it was so good to see her 😊 and then we had some time for studies. In the other room Sora Nuñez and Sora Newey had a lesson with our friend Mariana with the Sisters from Hull England (that Faith helped put us in contact with) and at the end of their lesson Mariana said next Sunday she wants to go to church in person with her husband! Ahhh so exciting 💗 (she has been taught for over a year but has moved a lot and just lives in a foreign country and does not speak English very well)

We spent about an hour going over the member list in Ploești and Sister Gundersen was able to set up several members appointments for next week, and then we went home. The snow is so wet that in a lot of spots there are just huge puddles. My feet got completely soaked again! Haha

When we got home we did our personal study cause we did not have time to get that in this morning and then we had a lesson planned for 8, but he did not answer so we just started making enchiladas for dinner! It was so much fun just talking and laughing with Sora Gundersen! Today was such a happy day and blessing! So many little miracles and just full of happiness, laughter, and the spirit! I love being a missionary 😍
