First Full Week in person MTC
Buna Ziua!
This last week has been so crazy! It has been hard and full of great learning and life experiences but it has also been so rewarding! Also, I am absolutely loving the weather! It will be rainy one day and then sunny the next and there is nothing like a beautiful crisp sunny day right after a big rain!
I got a nice, big, loud welcome from Elder Webley yesterday. He got here on Wednesday and when I walked into the cafeteria for breakfast Thursday morning I heard a loud voice from across the room, "Oh my goodness it's Rachel Acton". haha It felt like I had a heart attack it scared me so bad that someone was yelling my name in the big cafeteria... haha. It was good to see Elder Webley and hopefully we can get some pictures together while we are both here! It always nice being able to see people you know and are familiar with when you are in a foreign place!
My day's have been packed to the brim with studies, classes, workouts, and devotionals! Although I feel like collapsing it is a good collapse because I am growing so much! I can now see what people talk about when they say that a mission gives you 10+ years of experience and knowledge in just 18 months (or 2 years for the Elders :) ). I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father and for His plan for all of us and His plan for me individually! It is quite a humbling experience putting your whole life in His hands and saying, okay.. tell me what to do and I will do it, show me what to learn (in whatever way you think is best even if I don't like it) and I will learn it! Sunday and Monday were definitely two of the harder days of my life but, with the help from my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and his Infinite Atonement I was able to bounce back real quick and continue to be resilient amidst trails and hard times.
I would also like to say a special thank you to you all!! One of the things that has made the mission so hard thus far is being away from all of the amazing people in my life! I am so incredibly blessed to have so many amazing family and friends in my life! And friends who I literally consider Family! It is the love and support that I feel from you all that get me through hard days!
I feel like I am learning so much Romanian and progressing so much in the language and then I have a class where they bump up to the next level of words and grammar and I am back to realizing I have so much left to learn! haha, it is a real challenge learning a new language so fast! and having language classes from 6pm - 9pm but I am making the most of it and relying on my Heavenly Fathers help a lot to get me through!
Again, I love you all so much and hope you all have a great week!
Until next time! :)
MTC experience sounds hard and wonderful Sora Acton! And I hope your shin splints get better... my daughter Faith ended up having an in-grown toenail and had to have surgery their in Provo the day before she headed to San Antonio. The nurse told her it happens a lot there at the MTC due to wearing church shoes all day everyday. You're doing GREAT! Romania is BLESSED to get YOU!
ReplyDeleteOh no!!! In grown toenail is way worse than occasional shin pain!! Hope she is doing better now!
DeleteCongratulations Rachel. You will find your love for the Savior increases daily as you serve him with all your heart. Eileen and I love you and your family and wish you the very best in this new wonderful experience for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!! :)
DeleteIt sounds like you are growing in so many ways. I am so happy for you. When are you scheduled to leave for Romania? I think that is so awesome that you were able to see Elder Webley and Elder Carney while you are in the MTC. Good luck getting rid of those shin splints. You are smarter than you know, stronger than you think, and braver than you believe. Have a great week 2!
ReplyDeleteLove you Grandma!! Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement!! They mean a lot!
