Happy New Year

 Buna Ziua prietenii si familiele!

Hope you all have enjoyed the holidays! I sure have! It has been so cool to find similarities and differences with how others celebrate the same holiday! This week on New Year's Eve we went to bed at 10:30 but I woke up at midnight to what sounded like a war zone! haha It was so crazy how much the noise outside echoed off the concrete buildings! We live on the 7th floor of our apartment building so when I looked out the window I could see fireworks in every direction, it was so pretty! The church bells in every church were also going crazy and there were people yelling (but from a distance, so it almost sounded kinda spooky) it was crazy! I was also kinda loopy from waking up out of a pretty deep sleep to all the noise so it was quite the experience! haha

This week we were supposed to do exchanges and travel over to Sibiu which is a 3-4 hour drive but we found out that the maxi-taxi's don't run on New Year's day so we ended up having a lot more time than we thought we were going to have. Because of this, we ended up finding a song to sing and post on social media as a finding tool. It was so much fun! The song Sora Saunders found had just been released so we could not find any lyrics or sheet music to it so we did it all ourselves. There was also no alto part to the song so I had to figure that out too. It took a little bit but it was refreshing to just sit down at the piano and figure out all the notes! After we recorded the piano part we went upstairs to one of the bathrooms that had great acoustics and sang it in there! I wish we would have taken a picture of our set up because it was so funny! We had a trash can in the sink with the phone propped up on the lip of the sink and against the trash can! hahaha (We posted our song on Facebook if you would like to listen Our Song)

This Monday we woke up a little earlier than usual and took a train over to Oradea where Sora Robinson and her comp are serving! That was so much fun spending the day with her and site seeing around their city! It was very pretty and they have a lot of big beautiful church buildings there.

I love you all and hope you are all doing well! Take care and talk to you next week!

  1. Love You Happy New Year. I wished I could hear your song. We are dealing with over two feet of snow and it is still snowing. Everyone is homebound. I told grandpa today that the one good thing about being in quarantine, is that this bad snow storm didn't put a dent in our plans for the day. You are always in our prayers.
