La Mulți Ani!

I hope everyone has enjoyed the holidays and is safe and happy!

The holidays have been so busy for us over her in Romania, and on top of everything, we also had transfers this last week!

Monday night we went to a member's home where they fed us traditional Romanian Christmas food! It is popular to kill your best pig around Christmas time and they use as much of the pig as they can. We had slanina, which is the fat on the back of the pig, with the skin still on, and it is cut into little cubes to eat, usually with onions and bread. We also had pork liver, pork steaks, fried pig fat, and salted pig skins, which is considered quite the delicacy here! It was quite the experience! haha Oh also, I can't forget the best part!!! haha They also fed us sarmale, which is the pickled cabbage rolls, and I actually really like sarmale so that was yummy! This family that had us over for dinner were so much fun to talk to! They are named the Brinaru's. They are amazing members and I have learned a lot from them. Brother Brinaru built his whole home on his own after prophets encouraged members to have their own land and grow gardens years ago! Also, inside their house they have picture frames of each prophet that has been alive during their time as members! It was really sweet to be able to hear their stories and testimonies! We also had so much fun talking with each other and just laughing over random things!

Tuesday and Wednesday were full of final little projects and tasks to do before I leave Bucharest and leave the calling as Social Media Leader! It was a bitter sweet feeling to leave! It felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders but at the same time, I have put so much time and effort into that calling that it was hard to just leave it all.

Thursday, Sora Doru (now Diana I guess since she is no longer a missionary, haha) came and picked me up from my apartment with all my luggage, which was so kind of her, and we were able to spend some time together along with the other sister missionaries before my train left at 12 for Iasi! It was so nice to be able to talk and spend time with her! I love her so much, I have learned so much from her example and her faith and strength are so inspiring to me! We were talking about how glad we were that we got to be companions but that we felt a little jipped that we only had the short 5 week transfer as companions. We came to the conclusion that in the pre-mortal life at first we were not planned to be companions but we begged and begged and came to the agreement that we would settle for the short transfer, 5 weeks was better than none! haha

Thursday night we arrived in Iasi and I have just been on cloud nine ever since! I have honestly been still trying to catch up on sleep, but I have been soooooo happy! I love being back in the city that has literally had my heart since I left it over 3 years ago. When I left winter of 2018, I did not think I would ever be back! I have been able to walk around the main parts of the city as well as the area where I used to live! It is so crazy that I am back in Iasi! I can't wait to be able to travel to more parts of the city and to reconnect with those that I got to know when I was here before!

I love Heavenly Father so much and am so grateful for His hand in my life! It is so much fun to look back on life and see how he has been leading, guiding, and preparing me for a life that is way better than what I could have planned for myself!

I love the constant adventure of putting faith in Him, knowing that as I do all I can to keep the commandments and covenants I have made with Him, I will be blessed and will experience more joy than I can comprehend right now! I love it! I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I am so grateful for the healing powers and comfort that comes from the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and I am also just so grateful for all of you! Thank you for all your love and support! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
