Another Crazy Week!
Woooo another crazy week down! Right when I think things are going to slow down a little, I get hit with another tornado. We had transfers this week so we had to try to get every companionship their Light the World material before they went back to their cities because we will not get together as a mission again til the week of Christmas.
Also, this week we found out that our apartment has bed bugs. . . . NOOOO so sad! I didn't get bit so I had no idea but my companion has been getting bites quite often. This apartment has been treated in the past for bed bugs but I guess it did not get all of them so we are having to completely move out of our apartment. That means the last few days have been full of washing all of our clothes, towels, and pretty much anything washable in our apartment and then moving it to an empty apartment here in Bucharest. (Honestly, one of the many blessings this week was that we have an extra apartment to move into!)
Funny story:
Sunday morning we had several trash bags full of clothes that we had washed and that were ready to be moved to our new apartment so we took them to the church til we had time to take them to our new apartment. They were quite heavy so by the time we got to the church my arms were a little tired and shaky! A few minutes later I realized that the back of my dress had a hole in it. . . right about mid-thigh level. . . well we did not have time to go back to our apartment so I took some tape to try and temporarily fix it. . .that did not work, and then I remembered seeing a tiny sewing kit in the kitchen once upon a time. So I went to look and sure enough, it was still there! Next thing I know I find myself in the bathroom, sitting on the toilet, holding my dress, saying little prayers to Heavenly Father to help me thread the needle because the needles were tiny and I was still so shaky from carrying the bags over. My prayers were answered and within 5 to 10 minutes I was able to get my dress all fixed! haha, it was quite the experience but really made me laugh at how everything played out! haha
A highlight of my week:
I had so many little miracles and blessings this week! One of those was a scripture that was sent to me! D&C 136 verse 17 says, "Go thy way and do as I have told you, and fear not thine enemies; for they shall not have power to stop my work." And verse 31 says, "My people must be tried in all things, that they may be prepared to receive glory that I have for them. . . " These were exactly the verses I needed to hear this week! In verse 17 it assures me that as I continue to move forward on the path that Heavenly Father has placed before me, no matter what kind of storm may be going on around me, I need not fear, because I am doing His work! I know there is great joy that comes from doing the Lord's will, no matter what the circumstances around you may be. And then verse 31!!! SOO GOOD! We, as children of God, must be tried in all things! We must have trials and hardships in our lives so that we can learn, grow, and be prepared to receive Godly and Heavenly Glory! I know that this great honor and privilege does not come free or easy. So each time something hard, frustrating or sad happened this week, I reminded myself of what was taught in these verses above and also of the verses in D&C 121:7-8, ". . peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment. And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high. . ."
I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon, for the Doctrine and Covenants and for the words of modern day prophets and apostles that help lead me, guide me, and comfort me as I study them and strive to apply them in my life!
Thank you all for your prayer! I am honestly so grateful for you all! Vă iubesc! Sper să aveți o săptămănă minunată!
