Unexpected Blessings
Crăciun fericit!!
Wow!! What a week!! The beginning of our week we did not have as much planned as we have had in past weeks so I thought that this week would go by a little slower but I was gladly mistaken!
On Tuesday we did not have any lessons so we caught up on a lot of referrals and page likes that we had and tried to prepare ourselves for Wednesday because we had 5 lessons planned( I almost forgot, we did have 2 separate English lessons Tuesday night that went really well).
On Wednesday, to our surprise, all 5 of our lessons either did not respond or cancelled so we ended up having more time than we thought to fill. At the end of the day we decided to do some service for members of our branch! We made some cookies to bring to a family we had not seen in a while. They have a lot of little kids so we didn't want to stop by too late. After making the cookies we were looking for the best way to get to their house. The bus said it would take another 30 minutes to get to the station and the uber said it would take 20 minutes to come pick us up so we figured a taxi would be our best bet. I knew a place about a 5 minute walk away that always has taxis waiting so we started to walk there. On our walk we saw three other taxis drive by, one of them we were able to flag down but when we sat down inside he asked if we had ordered a taxi, we did not, so we had to get back out of that taxi and keep walking. haha. There are usually so many taxis around at night but for some reason they were MIA. When we got to the spot I was thinking of there was only one taxi that was already full and there was another lady waiting in front of us. We started to think if it was even worth it to still go the members house. . . but right as we were about to leave, a taxi came! He was so nice and as we drove to our friends house we were able to give him a Book of Mormon! Then on the drive back from their house our driver was very interested in our English classes! So, despite our 5 cancelled lessons, we were still able to have so much fun and success!
The rest of our week just flew by! I had my first dinner at a member's house, which was so much fun! We had a ton of fun decorating cookies and playing uno at a games night and of course Masa Sarachilor (the soup kitchen) was a blast! I love the environment there as so many different people come together to help make food for others!
As Christmas gets closer of course I miss spending time with my family, who I love so very much!! But the opportunity I get this year to be able to serve others like Christ did is such a cool experience! We met several new people to teach this week which was such a blessing! And they are all so sweet! I love meeting new people! It is so cool to get to know their story and then to talk to them about how Christ has been an impact in their life and how as they continue to learn more about Him their life will be blessed!
I love you all so very much and hope that you have an amazing Christmas week! Take care and eat lots of yummy Christmas treats for me!!
Love
