Miracles and Blessings
Buna ziua tuturor!!
I cannot believe how fast time flies by, how has another week just flown by!?
Tuesday we had a district activity so the elders and sisters from Sibiu came to Cluj for the day! Tuesday morning we made a bunch of cookies and then my companion and I were going to have to stay at the church while everyone else went to go get lunch because she had a little meeting she had to attend but. . .BLESSING. . .the senior couple called us and told us that they wanted to buy us all lunch so they actually got subway sandwiches for us and brought them to the church! I am so grateful for Heavenly Father's awareness of me individually even with the small things like me being a little sad I would not be able to join everyone else for lunch. While my companion had her meeting, we ate lunch and made cards for people in our ward we were going to bring cookies to later that day! The rest of the day was delivering these cookies to some of the elderly members of our Branch and it was so much fun!! Some of them have not been able to come to church in person because of health reasons so it was really nice to be able to talk with them face to face! One of the ladies we visited bore her testimony in church this Sunday and shared that our visit meant so much to her! Even though there were 8 of us in her apartment she enjoyed every second of it! She shared that the past year has been pretty hard with her daughter getting COVID and her husband getting sick but the card we wrote her reminded her that she has angels surrounding her helping her through these hard times and that she has many people who love and care about her and are willing to help her in times of need! I am so glad we were able to make such a positive impact on her life just by bringing her some cookies and singing some Christmas songs to her! It is moments like these that I can feel Christ's love for others strongly!
Also, MORE BLESSINGS and MIRACLES!! We asked our friend Mihai to fast and pray for a miracle in his life to be able to attend church. Right now he really wants to get baptized but he needs to be able to come to church first and his work has him working every Sunday! Tuesday night when we texted him, he informed us that he found a job on the other side of the country that would allow him to have Saturdays and Sundays off and he was planning on packing up everything and moving the next day. Then Wednesday morning, the day he was planning to leave he showed us a picture of a package and it was The Book of Mormon we have been trying to get to him for the past month!! ANOTHER MAJOR BLESSING! Unfortunately, he found out that due to his work visa he cannot change jobs quite yet but he was able to get 2 Sundays off of work this month! At the same job that earlier made it very clear that he had to work every Sunday! There were times this last week that he was feeling pretty discouraged that things were not working out the way he wanted them to but in the end, Heavenly Father still helped provide a way for him, even though it didn't look the way had initially wanted it to look! This experience was such a testimony builder to me of Heavenly Father's love for all of His children!
The rest of my week was full of amazing lessons and finding new people to teach through referrals and social media! Then on to Saturday. We were finally able to go visit Roxana, Cristina, and Georgiana!! The Downs, the Senior couple, drove us the two hours into the country and back, an all day adventure, to go visit them and their families! Those sweet girls were so excited to see us!! They greeted us with balloons, handmade cards, hugs, kisses, and homemade food! It was such a neat experience to visit their little village and get to know their families a little more! Their families' generosity, hospitality, and selflessness amazed me! They were so kind and so giving and it was such a blessing to be able to spend the day with them!
This week was so amazing and the amount of things that I learned in just seven days is so crazy! Today I hit my one month mark here in Romania and I am beyond grateful I still have 16 more months here! I can't wait to see what other amazing experiences I get to have while I am here! Love you all and hope you have a great week!!
