Merry Christmas!!
Hello everyone and Merry Christmas!
This week we had Mission Conference on Monday and Tuesday so our p-day got changed to Wednesday! What a week and a half it has been! It is so crazy how fast time goes by and how you can get so much done within that allotted time but how also at the same time you get to the end of the week and you still have so much to do! Haha
Missionary work is amazing! I love waking up every morning knowing that Heavenly Father has called me to do this work here in Romania, and he has given me so many blessings and talents to be able to do all that he has planned for me to do here! I have such a strong testimony of the added strength and power we are given as missionaries! It is amazing the things I have been able to accomplish thus far on my mission and I know that I did not do all that alone! I have received so much Heavenly help and comfort!
One of the scriptures that really stood out to me during my personal studies this week was Alma 38:2-5, they read:
"2 And now my son, I trust that I shall have great joy in you, because of your steadiness and your faithfulness unto God; for as you have commenced in your youth to look to the Lord your God, even so I hope that you will continue in keeping His commandments; for blessed is he that endureth to the end.
3 I say unto you, my son, that I have had great joy in thee already, because of thy faithfulness and thy diligence, and thy patience and thy long-suffering among the people of the Zoramites.
4 For I know that thou was in bonds; yea, and I also know that thou wast stoned for the word's sake; and thou didst bear all these things with patience because the Lord was with thee; and now thou knowest that the Lord did deliver thee.
5 And now my son, Shiblon, I would that ye should remember, that as much as ye shall put your trust in God even in so much ye shall be delivered out of your trials, and your troubles, and your afflictions, and ye shall be lifted up at the last day."
I love how these verses can apply to anyone, especially us as missionaries and members! In verse 4 it says that Shiblon was in bonds and was stoned for the words that he shared but that despite those hard times he continued to have patience because he knew that the Lord was with him and that he would be delivered from those trials and hardships! I know that we can always have the Lord with us as we make the choice to do what is right so the Holy Ghost can be our constant companion! I know that when life gets tough, confusing, and stressful we can find so much clarity, peace, and comfort through choosing the Lord every day!
We choose him by getting on our knees every morning and every night to talk to him, to share with him our weaknesses and our successes, all the things we are grateful for, to ask for repentance, and to make plans on how we can become better! We choose him by setting aside time each day to study his words through the scriptures and through modern day prophets! We choose him by looking outwards and serving others despite our own hardships. And we choose him by being kind and looking at others, looking at our situations in life, and looking at ourselves through His eyes!
I love you all so much! I am so grateful for each and everyone of you and your example to me!
I learned so many more amazing things during my Christmas Conference but I will share more of those on Monday! Hope you all have an amazing Christmas! Take Care!
