Baptism!!

Welp, my week has been crazy and today I am sick. . .haha so I will try and still make this email full of detail but at the moment it feels like my brain is being sat on so we will see how much I am able to report. . . haha

On Saturday, we had Maria's baptism so the majority of this week was full of us preparing for that! We had to clean the church, clean the collapsible font, figure out how to put the font together, look for the correct tools to put the font together, figure out the hot water situation at the church, try and figure out if we could connect a hose to a faucet in the church that actually had hot water, found out that the faucets that fit the hose only have cold water and the faucets that do have hot water have no way to connect a hose to it. . . haha of course. . . sooo what we did was fill the font 3/4 of the way full the day before, let it reach room temperature over night, and then boil water and pour it in the day of to try and warm it up. . .and sadly in the end it didn't really even work haha.

Even though the water was pretty cold still, the baptism went so well!! We had a huge turn out with several non-members that came!! The talks that were given were so good, the spirit was so strong, and at the very end Maria bore her testimony! It was so powerful! Her faith and testimony are so strong and I am so grateful for her and her example to me!

Also, absolutely loved General Conference this weekend! Since here in Romania we are ahead of time in Utah, we watched the Saturday morning session at 7pm on Saturday evening. And then watched the other sessions on Sunday. It was fun all gathering at the church on Sunday, watching conference all day and making meals together to eat in between sessions. My favorite part from conference so far (I haven't seen the Sunday afternoon session yet since it was at 11pm and I was asleep) was from President Nelson's talk where he gave us 5 points to have increased spiritual momentum!

Those 5 points are:

1. Get on the covenant path and stay there.

2. Discover the joy of daily repentance.

3. Learn about God and how He works.

4. Seek and expect miracles.

5. End conflict in your personal life!

I am so grateful for this instruction and I know that by following these steps I can have more spiritual momentum, energy, and joy in my life!

This past week, on Wednesday, we also got to go to dinner with Maria and her daughter, Lauradana. We ate at this super cute pizza shop and laughed so much together! It felt so much like home! I loved it!!

This week it also rained a ton and made me so happy! I love the smell of rain and how clean it makes everything! One morning we walked outside to go running and I almost shed a tear, it was so beautiful and clean!

Sorry my update this week is so scatter brained! Haha, all in all I am loving every single day and am so grateful for all the amazing people in my life here in Romania and those back home!

  1. I loved reading your post. Congratulations on the sweet sisters baptism. It is always such a joyful time after working so hard and watching their life change as they learn more about and grow closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. No greater joy!! I am so pleased with your efforts and positive attitude as a missionary. So sorry to hear you were under the weather. Hope you are back on your feet soon. I loved conference too. It is always so uplifting and gives us such hope and renewed faith in calling upon the powers of heaven to help us master our challenges.
