First Transfer Completed
Buna ziua prieteni și familie!
Wow!. . .What even happened this week?? If weeks keep flying by this fast I am going to be done with my mission before I know it! Our days are so full! It is crazy how much we are able to fit into our days! Right now we are teaching about 6 different people English and we have 6 other people who we are teaching actual gospel lessons! On top of all that, we have a lot of service opportunities because of the Christmas season! It is so much fun!!
I can't believe that this week was the last week of my first transfer!! WHAT! I feel like so much has happened the past 6 weeks I have been here in Romania but at the same time I still feel like I have so much more to learn! The language is coming a long but not as fast as I wish it would! There are a lot of people here that speak English so sometimes it is easier to communicate in English than Romanian when having a normal conversation. This next transfer I really want to work more on speaking Romanian even if the other person speaks English. It will be hard, but I know it will push me to become better at the language!
This last week we had a mission wide zoom call with all missionaries in Romania and Hungary and we got to hear testimonies from all of the missionaries that are going home this next week! It was a really neat experience to hear of all their experiences and what they have learned in the past 18 months/2 years of their lives!! It made me really excited for what is in store in my future!
This last Saturday was our Branch Christmas Party!! We ended up having more non members there than members! It was such a fun experience! I love the joyous spirit that Christmas brings! We had lots of yummy food and fun games for the kids, an appearance from Santa, and then we all watched the Christ Child video! I love that video so much! I can always feel the spirit so strong as I watch it and if you know me, you know I am a big cryer. . .haha I was a mess! This time not just from the video of Christ but also from the love I could feel for everyone there watching the video!! It has been such a cool experience, as I strive everyday to be more like Christ in the way I act, think, and speak, to be able to feel so much more love for those around me. I feel like I have been given just a tiny glimpse of how much He loves us and it is really a humbling and comforting feeling!
I am learning so much from my own personal studies as well as from my fellow missionaries and from the people that we are teaching! I love it!
Some exciting news we got this week is that next week we get to go to Brasov for a Christmas get together with our whole mission! I am so excited! Brasov is so pretty in the winter! It is a city that is more in the mountains so it will probably have a good amount of snow!! I am so excited!
I hope that you all are having a great Christmas Season and that you remember to keep Christ in the center of it! I know that as you do you will find yourself thinking about your own problems a lot less and you will find joy in helping others!
Love you all! Stay safe and find a way to serve those around you this next week :-)
Vă lubesc!!
P.S. This week I read the talk called "The Ministry of Angels" by Elder Jeffery R. Holland from the October 2008 General Conference. It is sooo good! If you get a chance, go listen to it this next week! And I would love to hear from you about what stuck out to you from the talk! :-)
Love it!
